It’s really up to you how far you want to take it, and there are plenty of ways you can go about it, but here are 7 of the most effective ways I’ve found to grow your YouTube channel fast and get more subscribers in the process.
1) Create videos you are passionate about
There’s no doubt that in order to be successful on YouTube, you have to find something you are passionate about and want to share with others. If you don’t care about what you are creating and uploading, there is a good chance that your audience won’t either. Spend some time brainstorming and think about why it would make sense for others to subscribe. Are there other similar channels out there? What makes yours unique? What information or stories will your channel offer that other people can’t find elsewhere? How often do you plan on posting videos? How much time will they take up each week?
2) Keep your content consistent
Consistency is key. It may take time to get your channel off of the ground, but once you have a few videos and some regular subscribers, you’ll start to see your views grow. If you find that one of your videos isn’t performing as well as others (i.e., gaining new subscribers), think about why that may be and try to figure out what can be done differently for next time. Most YouTube channels are on a six-month rotation schedule, meaning if one of your videos didn’t perform as well last month it should return to normal once it cycles through again in February or March.
3) Stay active on social media
One of your jobs as a new YouTuber is to let people know you exist. Use Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Pinterest to connect with other creators and grow your audience one social media connection at a time. Collaborating with other YouTube channels is a great way to grow your channel quickly. If you’re an established YouTuber, finding new ways to collaborate will only benefit your channel. Look for other channels that are similar to yours and see if they’d be interested in working together on a video or two. If so, offer them up some exposure by including their logo in your video, mentioning them by name and linking their channel in your description. This can help get them more views as well! If you’re just starting out on YouTube, let it be known that collaborating with popular YouTubers is a great way to gain exposure yourself.
6) Add annotations to your videos
Overlaying your own branding and contact information on your videos is a great way to build visibility and connect with viewers. That said, it can be tricky to get started.
